Nurse Brid O Sullivan

Brid graduated as a registered nurse from Cork University Hospital/ University College Cork (UCC) in 2002. She worked in Australia as a nurse before returning home where she completed her Postgraduate diploma in Midwifery from Cork University Medical Hospital/ UCC IN 2008. Her greatest claim to date is having had the honour of delivering the very first baby to be born in Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH) in March 2007!
Brid has a certificate in Diabetes in Primary Care run through UCC. Brid has a special interest in Women’s health and Sexual health. Alongside being a midwife she has a Certificate in Preparation for Birth and Parenthood Education Facilitation through UCC. She has a certificate in cervical screening and is a competent smear taker. She has a certificate in Sexually Transmitted Infections Foundation Course (STIF) through the Mater Hospital in Dublin. Brid also achieved a Certificate in Continuous Professional Development Sexual Health Advising Skills through Staffordshire University, UK. She has a certificate in Contraception Foundation Course for nurses run through the Irish Family Planning Association.
Brid is passionate about all areas related to women’s health. She strives to provide empathetic, individualised, evidence based, holistic care so that all women going through the different stages of our lives do so positively and confidently.
Brid continually strives to update her knowledge and skills. She is currently undertaking a certificate in the Fundamentals of Cardiovascular Disease in Primary Care with UCC.
